Experienced Russian A Teacher
Hello! My name is Daria, and I have been working in the IB for seven years. I teach Literature in the Middle Years and Diploma Programme, supporting students as they grow into confident, thoughtful, and curious readers and writers.
I love books — not only reading them, but rediscovering them through my students’ perspectives. Their ideas continue to inspire me and deepen my own understanding of literature. In return, I do everything I can to help students prepare for exams, develop strong analytical and writing skills, and — most importantly — cultivate a genuine love for reading and storytelling.
In my classes, I create an open and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore texts, express ideas, and ask questions. Outside of teaching, I enjoy hiking and running, and I always find inspiration for lessons in nature, movement, and new experiences.

MYP & DP Spanish Teacher
My focus as a teacher is on developing connections with each of my students because it allows me to deepen my understanding of their personal needs and expectations in regards to their learning. I like to be very creative in my classes, both because it encourages engagement, but also because I believe that approaching new information from a variety of perspectives will facilitate learning in the long term. I try to give my students a cultural understanding of the language, and I value diversity in the representation of Spanish culture.

Both at my school and working for the OSC I have all along been tutoring History students (Extended Essays, Internal Assessments). As a teacher, I very much enjoy the pedagogical task of making the History subject interesting and engaging to the student. Through my experience I find that when a topic is well presented, students engage, and thereby pick up both knowledge and skills.Outside teaching and tutoring, I enjoy languages (I have also taught IB French B), traveling and playing golf.

Students have also enjoyed working with Lanterna and have found the quality of the tutors to be consistently excellent.

Jonathan Malcolm, Inter-Community School Zurich

Lanterna’s teachers have been extremely communicative. They are flexible with our schedule, understand the diversity of student needs/abilities, and are willing to communicate with families as well.

Amanda Dillon, All Saints Episcopal Day School

Our students still think very fondly of Ania H and say they learned a lot from her. That quality level is essential for making online learning work well, so thank you again for organising such a super solution for us, especially at such short notice.

International School Kufstein Tirol

We are extremely happy with the work you did for us this year. The whole team was excellent at helping us navigate a crisis with Computer Science that took tremendous creativity and adaptability on your part. We pulled it off with your excellent teacher this year and the parents and students gave lots of positive feedback.

Dr. Christopher Schuster, International School of Brussels

We are using Lanterna as a long term solution to teach our Physics kids virtually due to some problems staffing a Physics teacher here at Nagoya. It’s been a, no joke, seamless and great solution and our kids and families are both pleased and relieved. We are even now looking to them as a longer term solution for a Business Management teacher for a two year contract.

Sarah Rodgers, Nagoya International School

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Lanterna for the outstanding support in providing such dedicated and knowledgeable teachers. Your contribution has undoubtedly made a positive impact on our students' learning experience.

Alissa Gouw, International School of Dongguan

I am starting to believe you can move mountains over there. Thank you. I had an anxious feeling about how this external teaching arrangement would fall in place, but your support has washed that away.

Bradley Gooding, Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam

Lanterna exceeded our expectations with their workshop in chemistry. Their knowledgeable and engaging teacher created an immersive learning experience, making complex concepts accessible and enjoyable for our students.

Janine Bokor, Per Brahegymnasiet
